"Single women often see themselves as sitting on the shelfwhile life passes them by, or as sitting on the bench whileothers play the game. They do not realize that they arewasting the most important time of their lives, they arerobbing themselves of great joy and reward, they arerobbing their future husbands of a more virtuous woman, and they are robbing God of a servant through whom Hedesires to do great things."
The Godly Woman-Becoming Esther by Charo and Paul Washer
So true, so true. I chanced upon this old article in my email and the truthfulness of it never fail to struck me. Many too often i heard people lamenting at the sorrows of being single and fear of being left on the shelve. But then, instead of going around searching for 'potential targets' and 'gathering experience', why not learn to enjoy it? Singlehood is a good time where we can learn to serve and love those around us, build strong fellowship with people around, cultivate values like patience and learn to trust God for his provision.
Till the season, do not stir up nor awaken love untill it pleases.
Feel free to drop me a message if you want the whole 2pg article. I believe it's applicable to the guys too! :)
